I’m going to let you in on a very well known “secret.”  Every professional you’ve ever seen has failed more times they’ve ever succeeded.  In fact, Michael Jordan often points out that he’s missed over 9,000 shots in his career.  Do we ever talk about that? Or do we focus on the 6 NBA Championship rings he has? The one thing that separates achievers from non-achievers is simple:  EXECUTION.

You can have the best business plan, workout program, meal plan, war strategy, anything.  None of that matters unless you ACT. Look, I understand. We want everything we do to be great and don’t want to be embarrassed from our mistakes.  You especially notice this on social media, where for most it’s simply a highlight reel of their best moments during the best time under optimal circumstances.  It’s time to step up and embrace failure, because it happens a lot on your path to success. I’m starting to feel like Morpheus when telling Neo to let go in order to free his mind.  In a way, this is exactly what you have to do in order to ascend to the next level.

Perfection doesn’t exist and you know it.  Stop fooling yourself, there’s no such thing as the perfect time for anything.  In addition, there’s no such thing as the perfect plan. Mike Tyson once said “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”  Obstacles are not only inevitable, they are necessary and valuable. Overcoming obstacles along the way forces you to adapt, changing your processes and methods to ultimately grow and succeed.  The funny thing is, once you let go of the doubt, fear and insecurity, it becomes easier. Getting started is the hardest part. Once you get moving, you gain momentum and become unstoppable. Stop waiting, planning and organizing.  The time to act is now, because we’re not guaranteed tomorrow.

One last thing.  Thank you to everyone that reads this blog, it means more to me than you’ll ever know.  I’ve also started a YouTube series with my trainer and colleague Sean Bryan centered around training and lifestyle, link to the video is below!
